Work For Universal Single Payer Healthcare now

To paraphrase what President Eisenhower observed 50 years ago, "Every gun that's made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, signifies a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and not clothed, (those who are sick, infirm and disabled can't get medical care) This world in arms (including the United States)...is spending the genius of its scientists, the sweat of its laborers and the hope of its children."
graceandpeace :: Work For Universal Single Payer Healthcare now
Today, nearly one in six Americans has no health insurance. Millions of others are woefully under-insured. Over 50% of middle class families filing for bankruptcy do so because of healthcare debt.

Meanwhile politicians in the pockets of healthcare corporations sabotage any real healthcare reform. Corporate controlled healthcare drains our resources and overburdens our budget. Our government's duty is to protect us-security begins with our health and well-being at home.  Universal single payer healthcare is the one true answer to the massive healthcare mess, financial and physical, with which healthcare corporations have saddled us.

President Harry Truman championed national healthcare 30 years before Canada made their healthcare available, affordable and accessible to all its citizens. President Truman's plan was defeated by groups bent on making profits on the backs of sick, infirm and disabled Americans.

In the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's champions of universal health care were time and again defeated by the agents of financial greed. And they will be again unless you stand up and say no more corporate healthcare profits at the expense of the rest of us.

While the insurance and pharmaceutical industries post huge profits, the U.S. healthcare crisis grows steadily worse.

We call on the All Parties at all levels-in party platforms and
resolutions-to commit to redirecting wasteful and unnecessary spending on corporate controlled healthcare to health care that benefits all Americans.

This commitment must start with comprehensive, guaranteed health care-driven by the needs of patients and the judgment of doctors. We call on all politicians to support a plan, which eliminates any financial barriers between the patient and health care providers, resulting in a patient not receiving medically necessary care.

Call your Congressperson and Senators and ask them to support and pass the only real healthcare reform option that will work, H.R. 676, which guarantees Comprehensive publicly-funded, privately-delivered health care for us all.
